The world we live in today is full of things we never expected to see when we were growing up. I don’t even want to mention specifics here, let’s just say the whole concept of sex is way more complicated and by sex I do mean male versus female. And that’s just one things of many. I myself, learned about many new threats to Christian beliefs such as Deconstructionism and Progressive Christianity, we’ll talk about these in the future.

But don’tt freak out if one of your tribe says something really out there. Stay calm and ask questions such as:

Why do you think that?

What do you mean by (fill i the blank)?

So gather the information from them, lean their reasoning, it will help you understand where they are coming from. Even if you’re thrown off guard, try not to show it. Don’t become judge mental or preachy, just listen and chat with them. Remember you want to let them know they can come to you and you will have a discussion with them. Your not going to start shouting or crying; you want to be a reliable and rational resource.
